Today was spent exploring downtown Montgomery, Alabama, a town that is rich with history.  We started off with a picnic lunch in the riverfront park and then headed into the downtown area where we saw the spot where Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat:

To a fountain that celebrates the history of the Civil Rights Movement

And we headed towards the state capitol building

But not before stopping at the Dexter Avenue Church, the first and only church where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was a preacher in the 1950’s
